My first was in 1951.  Thirteen generations later I am still at it. I am not one of those frequently claiming to have the best I've ever owned now.  Over those 58 years I have made the claim for only four dogs.  One, Buzzsaw's Faraway Zena,* is alive now, and has recently weaned a litter of pups.  The sire is Faraway Gus.* Several who have seen my dogs for the past 29 years (my time in Georgia) disagree and claim that Gus is my best.  

By the time Zena was two years of age I was sure she was going to be the best and I have been planning on this litter since then to continue the my bloodline.  Misfortune struck as she had only four living males.... the lone female didn't make it.  The last pup (a male) had to be by c -section and was dead.  Zena was spayed at that time.

My misfortune is your good fortune.   Logistics prevent me from keeping any males.

*Zena is a daughter of the deceased Faraway Rambling Wanda and Gus is Wanda's grandson. Wanda was the last of the pure Rebels. None are alive today.  Gus represents a combo of two of the three most prepotent sire lines of this century - Mrawsum and Joe Shadow.
