Update 10/20/98

For most recent updates see bottom of page

Much water has passed under the bridge since the summer of '90. My employment situation precluded any development in any aspect of our breeding operations. This will change within a month, and we hope to pick up the pieces with our breeding programs.

Faraway Triple Rebel, Faraway Lil Bit and Faraway Rambling Nell, Karate's Faraway Duke, Karate's Faraway Opal have deceased. Faraway Blondie, and Faraway Penny are too old for breeding.

Our existing line-up of brood bitches is as follows:

Faraway Rambling Buck and Faraway Quadriple Rebel are littermates to Vickie and Ursala. Faraway Jim is a littermate to Pam. Faraway Roy is in good health and is potent. Those with an interest in breeding their female to the best bloodlines available should consider these males.

It has now been established that the greatest stud of the past quarter century was Black Crude. Which, if any, of his son's inherited his prepotency is undetermined at the present. We are following this closely and plan on using his son(s) in our program. We are particularly interested in identifying his sons out of Buzzsaw Stormy Bud females. Rail Dancer inherited Guard Rail's prepotency; we are looking into his sons.

If you will click on this link you will see a set of observations which will become the basis for some fundamental changes at Faraway Kennels

March, 2000

We have been tracking Black Crude's sons for several years.  Unfortunately, none of them have been utilized very much as studs.  From what we have observed it appears that any of his sons are good studs.  There is enough evidence for us to conclude that we must use this bloodline to introduce "new blood" into the Faraway line.  The record shows that all other contemporary bloodlines are inferior (inferior= less likely to produce winners) to the Black Crude line.  It is undecided
as to whether we will purchase a son of Black Crude to use as a stud or bred our brood bitches to Black Crude's sons.
